Submit a Proposed Amendment to the Commission on Rules of Practice & Procedure

The Supreme Court Commission on Rules of Practice & Procedure is responsible for reviewing and preparing proposed amendments to the rules of practice and procedure adopted by the Supreme Court of Ohio pursuant to Article IV, Section 5(B), of the Ohio Constitution. Rules of practice and procedure within the jurisdiction of the Committee are the Rules of Evidence, Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Criminal Procedure, Rules of Juvenile Procedure, and Rules of Appellate Procedure.

You may submit a proposed amendment to the Commission on Rules of Practice & Procedure by regular or electronic mail at the addresses set forth below. Upon receipt of a proposed amendment that is within the jurisdiction of the Commission, the secretary will forward the proposal to the Commission for review. Proposed amendments are submitted to the Supreme Court with a recommendation from the Commission, and the Supreme Court is responsible for determining whether proposed amendments are published for public comment and filed with the General Assembly.
